ABC NEWS AMERICA ON THE SHARIAH PROJECT:
A notorious British protest movement called The English Defense League has declared war on radical Islam, a battle they are taking to the streets in rowdy, often violent protests.
Their founder, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, goes by the alias, “Tommy Robinson.” He claims that his group is not anti-Muslim, but several of his followers have been connected to hate attacks like mosque bombings.
Robinson said the gruesome murder of Lee Rigby was the “tipping point” that spurred the group to rise in prominence. Last May, two knife-wielding Muslim men savagely attacked and beheaded Rigby, a British soldier, on the streets of London in broad daylight, telling eyewitnesses the killing was “an eye for an eye … because Muslims are dying by British soldiers every day.”
“Nightline” met with an infamous Islamic preacher named Anjem Choudary and his group of young followers in the streets of London, where they were advocating for Sharia law. Choudary, whose extremist Muslim group was banned under Britain’s Terrorism Act, refused to condemn the killing of Rigby.
Several of Choudary’s followers take part in so-called “Sharia Patrols” in the streets of London. YouTube videos of these patrols surfaced online and immediately caused public outcry. They show young Muslims speaking out to enforce Sharia law on the streets — harassing a man they believe to be gay, ordering a man to stop drinking and telling a young woman she is dressed immodestly.
When “Nightline” went on a Sharia Patrol, the leader said that they wish for Sharia law to rule the world, and that Muslims should give up any other identity but their religion.
ABC’s Lama Hasan, who is a British Muslim, spent time with both Robinson and the Sharia Patrol in London, to get to the heart of conflict between the warring sides. She goes back to the neighborhood of Luton, which is not only Robinson’s hometown, but was also the launch point for the July 7, 2005 London suicide bombings, the worst terrorist attack in British history.
Important: due to severe weather conditions today's rally against gambling has been postponed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
As the British government continues in its implementation of oppressive man-made laws it is clear that there will be repercussions for such blatant aggression against the commands of Allah (God). In fact, when one looks to the nations of the past who similarly transgressed the limits set by Allah (God) you will see how, ultimately, it led to their destruction.
The severe storms currently bombarding Britain should serve as a lesson that the government, and those who follow them, should cease immediately from their immoral and backward behaviour. This includes atheism, polytheism, gambling, pornography, abortion, consumption of alcohol etc.
We ask the people of Britain to reflect on the end of the people of Lot, Noah and Hud, and know that it is never too late to change.
Despite the postponement of today’s rally against gambling we would like to remind the entire nation that the shariah legal notices prohibiting the horrendous legalisation of gambling, alcohol, fornication etc. still stand, and that inshaa’allah (God willing) will signal the beginning of a radical change in Britain towards the shariah.
We urge all Muslims in the United Kingdom to hold firmly on to the Quran and Sunnah, and to never compromise their beliefs. Alhamdulillah (all praise be to Allah), some estimates suggest that there are over 5 million Muslims in the country, which is nearly 10% of the country’s entire population. And although strength lies solely with Allah (God), and not numbers we still have a unique opportunity to fast track Britain’s path to Islamic law.
Please keep updated with our website for future rallies and events in the coming weeks.
May Allah give victory to Islam and Muslims.
In recent years we have seen the scourge of betting shops and casinos hit many high streets in the UK. They are particularly prevalent in the less affluent areas of our society; they seem to prey on the poor.
It is estimated that 1% of the British population have a serious problem with gambling, that equates to 350,000, this in most cases means they are gambling beyond their means often getting into serious debt, borrowing from relatives, using credit cards and in extreme cases stealing.
So for every person with a gambling problem it is estimated that they affect 15 people around them. Every year, over 7 billion pounds is spent on gambling, this is money that is for nothing. It simply makes shareholders and executives richer, it is the rich feeding from the misery of the poor, it is nothing more than exploitation.
For many people seriously affected by gambling it destroys their lives, their habit spirals out of control, affecting their families and friends until in many cases the gambler is left alone with nothing but his gambling habit for company.
Over recent years the licencing of gambling (i.e. gambling shops, casinos etc.) has been relaxed, creating what is now a multi billion pound industry. It seems, as usual, that the government are looking out for their chums in this new “gambling industry”. The government, who in any society, surely should have a duty of care towards its citizens, are instead justifying, encouraging, motivating and licensing the gambling industry.
In Islam gambling is Haraam, it is forbidden, it is clear with no ambiguity, Allah(swt) says in the Quraan,
“O you who believe! Intoxicants (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), gambling, Al-Ansâb , and Al-Azlâm (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitân's (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.” [ Explanation of Quraan Surah Al-Ma'idah' 5:90]
In Islam where politics means to look after the affairs of the people there will be no betting shops. Under the Shariah shops exist to sell goods, and to make honest transactions and create wealth to benefit the society. They should never exist to exploit and suck the wealth of the poor.
In a society where it is man who legislates law there will always be exploitation and suffering, those law makers are just men, they are prone to error and corruption as we have seen with successive governments time and time again. They make laws to suit themselves and their buddies in the various industries and in the banks.
As for those less fortunate who suffer along the way, they are the collateral damage the war casualties of years and years of the mistaken belief that man could take the role of God and legislate law.
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE PLEASE JOIN OUR ANTI-GAMBLING RALLY ON 4TH JANUARY 2014 IN EDGWARE ROAD @2PM.
